It is the driving force by which we achieve our goals.
It is literally the desire to do things.
These are great definitions but what are our motivators?
I want to know what motivates each of you.
Is it pride in your work, money, sense of accomplishment, challenge, praise from your team and management, prizes.
For myself, ,I love a challenge and feeling of pride in my work and I also do like to be acknowledged for doing a great job.
Shout it out Preston region!
I cannot tell a lie...my motivation for work is the paycheck. Yes, I like to do a good job, solve the riddles of what the docs are saying, etc. But really at this point it comes to the paycheck. I do find it very motivational when something I have done and accomplished is recognized. A "good job" and/or a "thank you" goes a long way with me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carrie...a paycheck that covers all my bills and maybe a nice treat for myself is highly motivating. But on a daily basis, knowing that what I do matters to someone is motivating. Surprisingly, I have been motivated by the occasional team challenge as well - I guess there is a tiny competitive streak in me that doesn't always come out!
ReplyDeleteMotivation for me is helping a patient get the best care they can get, by producing the best document I can. There is also a little voyeur in me and when I may be having a tough day, I always end up typing someone with more serious problems and I can send off good thoughts for them. Also, I am motivated by Transcend and the people I am in touch with. I have yet to have a "bad" TL, ROM, and of course the QA people are always helpful. Knowing I can trust them to answer my questions or just give me some support is a great motivator.
ReplyDeleteI guess we are all motivated by the paycheck, as well as benefits if full time.
ReplyDeleteBut I find for myself, this is a perfect opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the patients I process by praying for them and their families.
I also like the fact that I can do this from home.
And the time I save from not having to commute to and from work is put towards better things such as helping my grandsons with their homework and piano lessons after their school day.
Family is important to me, my own as well as my family here at Transcend. Wonderful people to work with.
